Verbing weirds language

The English language is extraordinarily flexible and is constantly changing and evolving. The act of denominalisation, for example, has been going on for centuries, yet it is still something that some people find difficult to accept. If you don’t know what it means, you can always google it…

People don’t tend to like change though, do they? So that means every time there is a new development in the language, the traditionalists will be there to criticise, to scoff and to tell us it spells the end of civilised society.

However, change still happens – it always has and it always and, as I read in an article, anybody who thinks they can stop it is merely Canuting.
